Zach Edey, in particular, was a standout performer throughout the season. He scored 37 points in the championship game and finished the NCAA Tournament with 177 points, tying for the second-highest number of points in the tournament’s history. He also set a new record by achieving seven consecutive double-doubles in tournament play simultaneously. At the same time, his 983 points and 474 rebounds for the season placed him among the elite company of players such as Elvin Hayes and Glenn Robinson.

Edey’s dominance on the court was evident in his free throw attempts, double-doubles, and blocked shots, cementing his position as one of the top players in college basketball. His overall career totals of 2,516 points and 1,321 rebounds place him among the greatest in NCAA history, alongside players such as Oscar Robertson and Shaquille O’Neal.

Another notable player was Braden Smith, who set a new Big Ten record for the most assists in a season with 292, surpassing Cassius Winston’s previous record. The team’s success was the result of the collective efforts of all its members, with each player contributing to the historic season in their own way.

Despite their defeat in the championship game, the Boilermakers’ achievements throughout the season will be remembered for years. The team’s record-breaking performance and individual milestones are a testament to the player’s and coaching staff’s talent and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy in Purdue basketball history.
